At age seven I was gifted a Brownie camera and began taking photographs which I still pursue but use a digital camera or my phone. At age 11, I studied oil painting with Naomi Fink. As a  realist oil painter she mostly copied art work of the Master Painters. It was hard to tell the difference between the originals and her work. I was given copies of paintings to copy which enhanced my technical skills but did not encourage creativity. In J.H.S.,  my art teacher encouraged me to continue studying art and  told me I had  a lot of potential. I continued my art studies in high school and studied watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, printmaking and advertising design where creativity was encouraged.  As an undergraduate at Brooklyn College I took a wide variety of classes but chose painting, drawing and photography as my majors, and in 1971 received a B.A. in Art Education. I spent many hours in the darkroom printing my images taken with a Yashika Mat camera.  I received a M.A.T. in Art Education at the University of Massachusetts in 1973 where I studied painting and printmaking. In 1979 I received an M.F.A. in printmaking and photography from The George Washington University. Having taught art for many years I retired in 2013 and returned to pursuing painting and photography. I studied with Howard Watson a renowned watercolor painter in Philadelphia and currently take classes with Marcia Weikert a former colleague and multi talented artist. My subject matter includes nature, landscapes, cityscapes, portraits which are realistic in style. I always have my camera available to capture  photos of the world around me. I found two farms in Bucks county one in disrepair and the other that belonged to Ranouph Bye a renowned  Bucks County watercolorist. His nephew Randy Bye, a professional photographer bought the property, which is in pristine condition and allowed me to take many photographs of the stone building, along with the animals who live there.
